3 penny opera

  • The “Three Penny Opera“ premiered in 1928 – during a time when Bauhaus was particularly popular. Inspired by its philosophy I made an accompanying book intended for all those who wish to deepen their knowledge about the play.

    The book was made following design principle “form follows function“, and to put a little twist in it, I experimented with its typography.

Besides Futura, "the Bauhaus typeface", Reross, originally by Reinhold Rossig and reconstructed by Elia Preuss, is primarily used as a display typeface. It is part of an Adobe campaign to further develop and digitize unfinished, original Bauhaus typefaces.
