One square metre of land per person, from cradle to grave. What sounds absurd is everyday life for Max Eden in Munich in 2050. Caring for the soil is a civic duty. From primary school through secondary education, Max learns to understand, care for and eventually discuss his patch of land. What begins as playful care gradually becomes a form of social responsibility and political participation.
School file
Certificates, letters to parents, soil reports, bonus cards and disciplinary records follow Max throughout his school years. Together, they show how responsibility can be measured and documented.
mikrobi keeps an eye.
Apps, Robo-Ants and regular soil reports make care measurable and traceable. Those who take care of their patch earn soil points. Those who neglect it face consequences.
The project combines Speculative Design with and worldhinting. It does not present a prediction, but a possible future, and asks how much control we would accept in order to secure a liveable future.
